Put the sugar, cut limes and mint leaves in the bottom of a pint glass. Now muddle—use the back of a wooden spoon to crush and mix the ingredients together. The more you muddle, the more the flavors will mix and develop. Add club soda and ice cubes. Stir and serve.
Modification: Create your own sensation. Substitute any kind of mint and any kind of fresh fruit and add a shot of rum.
