Spring Solanaceae Salad

The family Solanaceae, also known as nightshades, is a large family of plants that contain various alkaloids, some of which are harmless (potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers) and others which are used as pharmaceuticals because of their psychotropic effects—think Jimson weed and belladonna. This salad won’t make anyone high, but it will bring joy and a little warmth to your psyche and your tongue.
