Honey Roasted Blood Oranges

While blood oranges are usually best served raw, I do like to roast them with honey as a topping for vanilla ice cream or for a salad with goat cheese and chopped pistachios.

Ingredients

  • blood oranges
  • honey (preferably orange blossom)

Instructions

Cover a cookie sheet completely with nonstick foil (if you don't do this you will have a burnt-on mess that will take forever to clean up.)

Place the sliced oranges in a single layer on the cookie sheet, drizzle with the reserved juice and honey (preferably orange blossom) and roast at 400º for 15–30 minutes or longer until they are as caramelized as you'd like them to be (browned edges are wonderful but keep a close eye on the oranges so they don't burn).
