Planning Arizona’s Food Future
Arizona Food Systems Network (AZFSN) has recently released the “Arizona Food Action Plan 2022—2024” for comment and collaboration. AZFSN is a “community of local, state and regional food systems advocates, practitioners and leaders who have a vested interest in collaborating to improve the food system for all Arizonans.”
With the goal of a vibrant, sustainable and equitable food system, the plan identifies four priorities:
1. Food access and distribution
2. Land and water access and protection
3. Climate-smart foodways
4. Agricultural workforce development
Not just a statement of aspirations, the plan lays out specific objectives and strategies for the next two years in each area as determined in sessions convened by Pinnacle Prevention with support from Vitalyst Health Foundation. To download a copy, go to azfsn.org/food-action-plan.html.
