Epic Fine Chocolates

Kathryn and David have been making confections for more than 30 years, starting with their candy venture "Best Toffee" based out of Tucson, which specialized in chocolate-covered Butter Almond Toffee and Chocolate Truffles for order by mail. After moving to Snowflake, Arizona in 2000, the couple created Black Mesa Ranch, a dual goat cheese dairy and commercial candy kitchen. Products such as the Goats Milke Fudge, Caramels, Dessert Sauces and more were soon added.

Zak's Chocolate

This small chocolatie shop and cafe pays attention to detail; with ethically sourced cocoa beans, they create small-batch craft chocolates recognized by Arizona Good Food Awards, Phoenix New Times and Phoenix Magazine. Beans are sourced straight from farmers in various regions, and roasted in-house. There are many varieties of dark chocolates, as well as some milk chocolate and white chocolate options, with caramels, brownies and more. Many of the chocolates themselves are expertly designed and painted to create small works of art.

The Simple Farm

About Simple Farm's CSA: Though it grows its own fruits and vegetables, the Simple Farm is primarily a goat dairy farm, and savvy shoppers know to pick up some of the farm's organic, homemade goat's-milk salted caramels with their CSA goodies. Shares ($175 for a seven-week season) include vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers, and eggs from the farm, along with occasional items from other local farms that have similar growing practices.

Local, all-natural ingredients with no artificial flavors, colors, preservatives or hydrogenated oils make the ice cream and sorbet truly delicious. Sundaes, milkshakes and floats are alo availble. In addition to the artisan ice cream that we love, we've recently become fans of Sweet Republic's confectionary as well.  From hand-made marshmallows to bacon and nut brittles to salted caramels, you're in for a sweet treat.
