Why We Love It: Crooked Sky actually farms and maintains a series of naturally-grown (meaning no chemical insecticides, herbicides, fungicides or fertilizers) plots around the Phoenix Metro area. They are best known for the heirloom tomatoes, lemon cucumbers, pumpkins, green chiles and I’itoi’s onions (it’s kind of a cross between a green onion and a shallot) but there are plenty of other crops rotating from season to season.

About Crooked Sky's CSA: Crooked Sky Farms is Certified Naturally Grown, which means it grows its produce without pesticides or genetically modified seeds. The farm is actually a patchwork of properties spread out around Arizona at different elevations and with slightly different climates, which allows for a greater variety of produce. Members prepay for three months at a time (about $20/week, depending on pickup location), and pickup of fresh fruits and vegetables can be scheduled at more than ten locations.
