Lavender Gin Sour

Lavender Gin Sour

Lavender Gin Sour

This simple sour drink follows the classic sour recipe of 2 parts spirit to 1 part each citrus and sweet. The sweet lavender, tart lemon and aromatic gin complement each other beautifully on your nose and tongue. Try your own substitutions to come up with your own sours.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 part fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 part homemade Lavender-Rosemary Syrup (see recipe below)*
  • 1 3/4 parts gin
  • Garnish: Lavender Sugar Rim (see recipe below)*
  • Extra garnish: Candied Lavender Sprigs (see note and recipe below)*

Instructions

  • Rim half a martini glass with Lavender Sugar, then set aside. Vigorously shake lemon juice, Lavender-Rosemary Syrup and gin with ice, then strain into rimmed glass.
Editor's note: To gild the lily, add Edible Cocktail's recipe for Candied Lavender Sprigs.
