Why We Love It: Welcome to the ranch! This is the place for Modern American Southwestern cuisine: elk balls, braised brisket and rye sandwiches and an assortment of steak and fish cooked over Mesquite Wood Embers. Cartwright’s strives to preserve Arizona’s heritage through its food and it’s doing a mighty fine job—much of the produce is sourced locally, including saguaro fruit, yucca baccata fruit, jojoba seeds and olives harvested right from the desert.
UPDATE: Cartwright’s is now closed.
