Why We Love It: This vineyard produces mostly red wines—Tempranillo, Monastrell, Mourvedre, Garnacha/Grenache—and only has one white blend. Why? They are dedicated to quality and not mere demand. It is perhaps because of that commitment that they have earned themselves designation as an “Arizonian treasure” by Governor Janet Napolitano in 2009. Callaghan’s wines have also been served at the White House (specifically, the 2004 Claire’s, 1998 Buena Suerte Cuvee and 1993 Buena Suerte Cuvee).
