Display of "sweets" made out of felt and yarn

“In my artwork, I explore themes related to indulgence, temptation, comfort and security by creating sculptural objects that represent food,” says ASU graduate Mindy Sue Meyers. “I make large quantities of sweets and pastries from fabric and household items.”

Her exhibit at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport (Spring 2009) was inspired by vintage cookbooks, Betty Crocker and Martha Stewart. Even though Meyers’ creations are crafted from felt, Styrofoam and glitter, they look much more appetizing than a lot of the airline food we’ve seen.
