Why We Love It: Cute alert: DJ Fernandes (the restaurateur behind Tuck Shop and Astor House) named his latest restaurant after his grandma. The food is no nonsense. Breakfast sandwiches and burritos are only to-go. Sitting down means you get a real meal. Would you ever go into nana’s kitchen and ask for substitutions? Well, don’t think about it here either. Dishes to try: pain perdu (banana bread pudding French toast with whiskey caramel) and the Mexican Benedict (eggs, chorizo, tomato, cilantro, and hollandaise on sopes). Also check out the specials and Japanese cold brewed iced coffee (made in those glass contraptions that look like they belong in a science lab).
