Gila Farm cookbook

We've profiled the International Rescue Committee and its good work to aid Valley refugees by helping them establish farming operations through the Gila Farm Cooperative in past issues of Edible Phoenix. The cooperative's farmers hail from Bhutan, Burma, Congo, Cuba, Eritrea, Iraq, Liberia, Sudan, Somalia, Togo and Uzbekistan. They share their international vegetable recipes in this cookbook, bringing us a taste of both their homelands and the produce they now grow in the Valley. The book is filled with colorful photos of the farmers and their farms, many of whom you will recognize from the Phoenix Public Market and other local farmers markets.

All proceeds from the sale of the book directly support the Gila Farm Cooperative.
