Sheep is Life Celebration
Our organization is sponsoring this event and collaborating with the Land Grant of Diné College to promote the Navajo sheep culture. Our mission is to preserve, protect, and promote the Navajo way of life; while encouraging the participation and cooperation of the Navajo people among themselves and with other people and organizations.
Sheep Is Life Celebration is an annual event held to focus on the continuing the interest of the Navajo Sheep culture, global sheep culture, traditional weaving and shepherding. Everyone is welcomed to our summer event held every year in the 3week of June. Participants attend workshops series and gain knowledge in sheep production practices, traditional sheepherding practices, proper grazing management and benefits of raising Navajo Churro Sheep and other sheep breeds.
