Rio Salado College "Creating Garnishes" Workshop
Do you like to entertain friends and family? In this workshop you will learn how to make garnishes for plates and platters that will elevate the presentation of your work. Guest chef Michael Pisarik of AJ's Fine Foods will be sharing garnishing techniques he has learned over the years. The workshop will start out with easier garnishes such as vegetable flowers and radish mice to garnish cheese platters. Towards the end of the workshop, melon swans and other carvings will be demonstrated and students will have a chance to work on some of these more challenging carvings alongside professional chefs.
Rio Salado culinary workshops are designed for the beginner and are fun and low pressure. Workshops are hands on and participants will be standing for the majority of the workshop. Workshops are generally made up of 16 students and we work in teams of 4. We want the group to work safe, learn new techniques and recipes to their culinary repertoire and most importantly, HAVE FUN! Proper kitchen attire is required which includes: closed toe shoes, long pant and long or short sleeve shirt. Please restrain hair while in the kitchen.
