Market Workshop: Cactus Fruit | Gems of the Desert

Many types of cactus produce fruit that are not only edible, but also delicious and nutritious. They can be sustainably grown in our desert environment using no fertilizer, no pesticides, and very little of our most precious resource, water.

This course will cover varieties of cactus that produce the best fruit, cultivation/propagation, and harvest/preparation of the fruit.

Meet Your Instructor: Jonathan Manning has been an ISA certified arborist since 2008, manager of Elgin Nursery and Tree Farm, and co- owner of Holiday Farms LLC. Holiday Farms is dedicated to the sustainable , local production of fruit and potted plants without the use of pesticides.
