Join Maya's Farm and Barbara Halden for the premier season of Garden Education, Cooking, and Art. All classes are inspired by Waldorf education, Alice Waters and our passion to to see a better food future for all!

Cracking the Compost Cycle     3rd - 6th grade
October 21, Saturday 
Our young scientists will dive into soil adventures, analyzing soil components and making healthy soil for our plants to grow in. What goes into a compost pile and why does it all break down? Do we have friends living in the soil? Ask your scientist after this fun morning at the farm.
 
Cooking with Maya     5th - 8th grade
November 5, Sunday
In this fun Cooking Class, our young farmers will learn about food hygiene, tool safety and have a great time Harvesting and preparing a healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch. Where does the food come from? We will harvest from Maya’s Farm and have plenty of opportunity to learn about the importance of organic, nutrient dense foods.
 
Peeking into Pollination     3rd - 6th grade 
November 18, Saturday
How do seeds develop and grow? Who is helping with this important job? Can we help these pollinators? Where are the seeds hiding in the plants? These are the questions our young farmers will find answers to during our farm class. Hungry after all this work? We will cook lunch with all the edible plants we looked at.
 
Down to Earth Gifts     3rd - 8th grade
December 3, Sunday 
The farm is so important to nourish our bodies and souls, but it also gives us plenty of materials to make gifts for our friends and families. In this class we will use our hands to make a variety of nature gifts, just in time for the holidays. As usual we will finish our work with a healthy lunch from the farm.

Admission: Cost per child is $50. A sibling may be included for $40 which would be a total cost of $90 at selection of class and payment. Includes Fresh Farm Food!
