Beautiful Garden Designs in Small Spaces presented by DIG
Explore ideas to create your own oasis in a small or unappealing space. Whether starting from scratch or refreshing a location in your yard or garden, Master Gardener Katie Coates will discuss elements of style, design and plant choice that will help you create your own beautiful outdoor living space.
The learning objectives of this class include:
1. Learn about garden design for the low desert, characteristics of the Sonoran Desert and water-wise gardening: soil, water, temperature, etc.
2. Learn how to think about your outdoor space as "outdoor rooms"--how you plan to use your space will determine elements you'll need as well as plant choices.
3. Learn about elements of design and style (hardscape and softscape) that you can combine and layer to create a lush, beautiful and usable outdoor space.
4. Learn about recommended desert plants that thrive here and how to choose the "right plant for the right place" for year-round beauty and enjoyment.
